Delaware Has the Fastest Internet Speeds Which Makes it a Great State to do Business!

Last week we listed ‘Five Top Reasons to do Business in Delaware’ which makes a great case for ‘start ups’ to open their business in the state of Delaware. Well here’s even more incentive, Delaware has the fastest Internet Speeds (16.2 mbps) in the nation which gives Delaware business an edge, making them more competitive than those businesses based in neighboring states!
According to the Akamai [‘State of the Internet’ (SOTI) Report – 2nd Quarter, 2014], the Internet is over twice as fast in Delaware than in Arkansas.
“In terms of absolute speeds, Delaware had the fastest Internet speeds at 16.2 mbps, followed by just over 14 in Virginia; Washington. D.C. was next with speeds just below 14 mbps. The Internet was slowest in Arkansas, where average speeds were 7.5 mbps.” — Chokshi , Niraj. “These maps show the Internet is getting faster in (almost) every state.” The Washington Post., 30 Sep. 2014.
Not only does a faster internet speed make e-commerce sites more competitive, it makes businesses of all industries more productive, giving them faster access to shared project files allowing for more efficient collaboration.
The Akamai SOTI Report noted that “the global average connection speed increased 21% from the first to second quarter of the year. At 4.6 Mbps, the global average connection speed exceeded the 4 Mbps “broadband” threshold for the first time.”—Akamai SOTI
