The Delaware KIDS Fund Annual Appeal Breaks a Record!

February 2, 2016

Delaware KIDS Fund annual appeal

Thanks to many generous donations, the Delaware KIDS Fund’s Annual Appeal raised $34,007 during its Year End Appeal, a record and $8,000 more than their goal. The Delaware KIDS was established by Thomas J. Hanna in November 2008 and is an acronym for ‘Kids in Distressed Situations’.

Since 2008, the KIDS Fund and Harvey, Hanna & Associates team have collected over $132,000 from their annual appeal. Held every year during the holiday season, the program was designed to combat the food insecurity issue amongst Delaware children.

Currently, 1 in 5 kids suffer from food insecurity. At Harvey Hanna & Associates we believe that taking care of our next generation is paramount to providing our community with safer streets, brighter futures and a better functioning society. It all begins at the family table.

In addition to the annual appeal, there were 2 special raffles; ‘Star Wars Episodes 7 Package’ and ‘3 Night Stay at Hyatt Place in Dewey Beach’.  The online raffle helped to raise $1,500.

A BIG Thank you to all the local businesses, colleagues, family and friends for their generosity and for making this our highest fundraising effort ever! This raises the bar for the 2016 annual appeal. We have faith that our community champions will rally to meet the need.
