Launches New Fundraising Website: www.CampingforCoats.com
The Delaware KIDS Fund and Harvey, Hanna & Associates today launched their 2020 Camping out for Coats campaign.
Operation: Warm Newport – Delaware KIDS Fund Camping out For Coats is an annual challenge based fundraising campaign that provides brand new Operation Warm coats for every student at select schools ahead of the winter season.
Since 2017, Delaware KIDS Fund, founding partner Harvey, Hanna & Associates and Operation Warm, a non-profit coat manufacturer, have collaborated to deliver over 6,000 coats to 6,000 local children at 12 different schools experiencing high poverty rates.
To help accelerate monetary donations and strengthen awareness for local children in need, several members from the community traditionally camp out overnight in the middle of Newport. This year the annual campout will be hosted remotely in a safe and socially distant format to help meet current CDC guidelines regarding live events. Anyone interested in camping out for coats is encouraged to camp out from their own back yard on Friday, November 13th.
“Camping outside for a night represents a community-wide commitment to warming up local children in need, inspiring confidence, boosting self-esteem, and improving peer acceptance,” said Ryan Kennedy, Executive Director of The Delaware KIDS Fund.
The Delaware KIDS Fund also unveiled a brand new fundraising website loaded with multimedia highlights featuring the campaign’s history, mission, event details and donation options at www.campingforcoats.com. Squatch Creative, a creative agency based in Wilmington and longtime sponsor for the Delaware KIDS Fund, designed the website.
“We are excited to help tell the inspiring story behind this campaign and highlight the impact it has made in our community through this new website,” said Evan Lober, Director of Multimedia of Squatch Creative.
To Help Support Camping out for Coats All coats (brand new) will be purchased through Operation Warm and delivered to a local elementary school(s) through a participating sponsor coat delivery parade. School(s) to be announced in November.
In a commitment to warming up local children in need, Delaware KIDS Fund ‘Campout for Coats’ returns to Newport, Delaware November 16th & 17th. Yes, it’s cold but let the coming together of a loving community keep you warm!

Are you looking to get your business more involved in the community? There is an excellent opportunity to support the DE KIDS Fund 5K Run/Walks coming up in August. Any time a company supports a local charity or event, it sends a message that your business is vested in the community.
Something as simple as sponsoring a little league team or spearheading a special cause gets your business front and central in the community where you live and work. Those kids on the team wearing shirts with your logo are a living, breathing advertisement for your business. The beauty is that often the cost is way less than what you would spend on a traditional ad campaign and it lasts throughout a whole season of T-ball!
The 7th Annual Delaware KIDS Fund 5K Series is actively looking for sponsors for the 2016 races. This year there will be 2 chances to sponsor as the Newport 5K DEKIDS Race will take place Saturday, August 6th and new this year, the Dewey 5K DEKIDS Race will take place the following weekend, Saturday, August 13th. That gives you 2X the opportunity to make a positive impression on the community.
