Top 5 Reasons Your Business Should Sponsor Delaware KIDS Fund 5K Race

May 24, 2016

DE KIDS 5K race

Are you looking to get your business more involved in the community? There is an excellent opportunity to support the DE KIDS Fund 5K Run/Walks coming up in August. Any time a company supports a local charity or event, it sends a message that your business is vested in the community.

Something as simple as sponsoring a little league team or spearheading a special cause gets your business front and central in the community where you live and work. Those kids on the team wearing shirts with your logo are a living, breathing advertisement for your business. The beauty is that often the cost is way less than what you would spend on a traditional ad campaign and it lasts throughout a whole season of T-ball!

Delware KIDS Fund 5kThe 7th Annual Delaware KIDS Fund 5K Series is actively looking for sponsors for the 2016 races. This year there will be 2 chances to sponsor as the Newport 5K DEKIDS Race will take place Saturday, August 6th and new this year, the Dewey 5K DEKIDS Race will take place the following weekend, Saturday, August 13th.  That gives you 2X the opportunity to make a positive impression on the community.

Delaware KIDS Fund is an acronym for ‘Kids in Distressed Situations’ helps at-risk children in Delaware who may face violence, abuse, family financial troubles, or other distressing situations. It is a non-profit organization founded by Thomas J. Hanna, VP of Harvey Hanna & Associates, a commercial real estate company.

Here are the ‘Top 5 Reasons Your Business Should Sponsor the Delaware KIDS Fund 5K:

1.       It will help high risk children throughout all of Delaware. Did you know that 1 in 5 children in Delaware face hunger? That is unacceptable and we all should want to do something about it.

2.       You get your company logo on t-shirts – which will not only be worn by the hundreds of participants the day of the race, but throughout the life of the t-shirt.

3.       Sponsorship at the next level, will get your company logo on the t-shirt and a microfiber towel.

4.       One level higher gives you an advertisement on billboards, along with the t-shirts and towels.

5.       As a ‘Presenting Sponsor’, you get everything – t-shirts, towels, billboards and Top Billing!

As a bonus this year, since there are 2 DE KIDS Fund 5K races, you have the option of sponsoring both races, giving you 2 times more chance to shine in the community. Who can’t see the value in that?

If you’re convinced that sponsoring the DE KIDS Fund 5K is a good, sound business decision, give a call to 302-323-9300 ext. 17, email info@DEKIDSFund.com or download and fill out this 2016 Sponsorship Form now!

The Delaware KIDS Fund Annual Appeal Breaks a Record!

February 2, 2016

Delaware KIDS Fund annual appeal

Thanks to many generous donations, the Delaware KIDS Fund’s Annual Appeal raised $34,007 during its Year End Appeal, a record and $8,000 more than their goal. The Delaware KIDS was established by Thomas J. Hanna in November 2008 and is an acronym for ‘Kids in Distressed Situations’.

Since 2008, the KIDS Fund and Harvey, Hanna & Associates team have collected over $132,000 from their annual appeal. Held every year during the holiday season, the program was designed to combat the food insecurity issue amongst Delaware children.

Currently, 1 in 5 kids suffer from food insecurity. At Harvey Hanna & Associates we believe that taking care of our next generation is paramount to providing our community with safer streets, brighter futures and a better functioning society. It all begins at the family table.

In addition to the annual appeal, there were 2 special raffles; ‘Star Wars Episodes 7 Package’ and ‘3 Night Stay at Hyatt Place in Dewey Beach’.  The online raffle helped to raise $1,500.

A BIG Thank you to all the local businesses, colleagues, family and friends for their generosity and for making this our highest fundraising effort ever! This raises the bar for the 2016 annual appeal. We have faith that our community champions will rally to meet the need.

Support Delaware KIDS in Need this Holiday Season

December 8, 2015

Today in Delaware, one in five kids is struggling to get a consistent meal. At Harvey Hanna and Associates we believe that taking care of our next generation is paramount to providing our community with safer streets, brighter futures and a better functioning society. It all begins at the family table.

The Delaware KIDS Fund was established by Thomas J. Hanna in November 2008 and is an acronym for ‘Kids in Distressed Situations’. It is geared around assisting Delaware area kids that are at risk or in need for whatever reason. Delaware KIDS Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing goods and services such as; clothing, food, shelter, scholarships, educational grants, counseling and mentoring.

In addition to the Delaware KIDS Fund Annual Appeal, this year  there will be 2 special raffles; ‘Star Wars Episodes 7 Package’ and ‘3 Night Stay at Hyatt Place in Dewey Beach’. Raffle tickets are only $5 each, are tax-deductible and all proceeds will go directly to the Delaware KIDS Fund. Raffle drawing is on December 15, 2015 at 7pm.

The movie package includes 2 tickets to the premier of the long anticipated Star Wars Episode VII “The Force Awakens” at Westown Movie Theatre in Middletown Delaware on December 17th  , 7:15 pm, a $100 gift certificate for concessions, limo and a Star Wars swag and comic gift package.

The team at Hyatt Place is showing its support for Delaware KIDS Fund by awarding one lucky raffle donor with a THREE NIGHT stay at the fabulous hotel – in the heart of Dewey Beach! This raffle runs through January 1, 2016 and the drawing will be on January 2nd.

Looking to add meaning and value to your holiday season?

Why not give the gift of food security by making a tax-deductible gift to the Delaware KIDS Fund. Your gift will have an amazing front-line impact as the demand at Delaware food banks continues to mount with demand exceeding supply!

122,310 adults and children in Delaware do not have sufficient food – each day, every day – half of whom are children at risk.

Over the last seven years, the fund has disbursed over $62,000 to worthy organizations and crisis needs in Delaware. Organizations such as ‘The Bridge of Hope Food Bank’ in Wilmington, ‘Student Backpack Program’ of NCCC, ‘Cape Henlopen Food Bank’, ‘Our Lady of Grace Orphanage’ in Newark, ‘The Delaware Food Bank’, ‘Limestone Presbyterian Church’, ‘Family Promise’ of northern NCC and the ‘Sunday Breakfast Mission’, to name a few. Founding partner Harvey, Hanna & Associates has donated over $1 Million dollars to Delaware causes since 1997. This article, ‘Doing What’s Best for Kids’ was recently published by Greenville & Hockessin Life magazine.

“There is a personal connection with any effort such as this. I’m a father of three kids myself and having been in out of various children’s hospitals, seeing those kids that are less fortunate than others; it hits home. A few years ago, we as a family decided to consolidate our giving and formalize it in the form of this Delaware KIDS Fund,” shares Thomas J. Hanna, VP of Harvey Hanna & Associates.

The Fund was established as a response to Delaware’s ‘food security crisis’, based on the premise that ‘no child of any age can flourish and grow without adequate nutrition’ and has grown to encompass much more since its’ conception. The Delaware KIDS Fund not only supplies nutrition for Delaware youth’s physical growth, it also helps to feed their minds through the mentoring program, counseling, scholarships and educational grants.

Your gift will allow the Delaware KIDS Fund to accelerate its efforts during the Holidays and into 2016. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift either online or by sending a check payable to ‘Delaware KIDS Fund’ to:

The Delaware KIDS Fund
405 East Marsh Lane, Suite 1
Newport, DE 19804
